Our Master Gardener...

The keeper of our beautiful gardens is the owner/proprietor of Something Special Events - Mike Meyer.  He is a Master Gardener and enjoys every moment he gets to work in his gardens. The gardens really appreciate his efforts too because they are beautiful at every glance.  A photographer's dream backdrop as they photograph weddings and events!

Garden Weddings...

There is something special about an outdoor garden wedding!   At Something Special Events we especially enjoy the spring and summer garden weddings.  This time of year the flowers are new and full of blooms just waiting to show-off for that special bride as she walks down our garden path to begin her new life.

Candlelight Wedding Package

We put wires on the old blue ball canning jars from the farm in Indiana. Used them along the walkway for a candlelight wedding (see candle package).   This wedding used peacock feathers - the blue in the jars looked great with the colors in the feathers...

SAVE THE DATE

Saturday, March 24th
Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation’s 2012 Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon Fundraiser
“The Language of Flowers”
Spring fashions this year will feature flowered prints and reflecting this is a renewed in-terest in the Victorian use of flowers as a means of communication. Floral arrange-ments were used to send messages, for example when Kate Middleton married Prince William in London last spring her wedding bouquet flowers held symbolic significance:
  • Lily-of-the-Valley - return of happiness;
  • Hyacinth - constancy of love;
  • Ivy - fidelity, wedded love;
  • Myrtle - the emblem of marriage, love. (The stems of a myrtle planted by Queen Victoria in 1845 are traditionally used in royal wedding bouquets).

Attendees will enjoy a flower-bedecked luncheon, view the latest fashion trends, enjoy music by Mrs. Sue Royal, and learn from the experts on how to convey your thoughts through carefully chosen flowers. Tickets go on sale March 1st.

March 5, 2012 Fundraising Event...

Something Special will be one of the vendors providing food prepared by Chef Carol at this event held at The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts on March 5th.
